Estimating ITAs for Express Entry in Late 2024: Key Insights
Analyzing Express Entry trends from previous years can help predict the number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) likely to be issued for the remainder of 2024. If IRCC maintains its issuance rate from 2021-2023, we might expect approximately 3,522 ITAs in December. However, this estimate hinges on historical patterns and could vary significantly.
ITAs serve as a step towards meeting Canada’s Immigration Levels Plan, which focuses on permanent residency landings. Not every ITA results in a landing due to processing times and other factors. IRCC has confirmed that most ITAs issued between July 2024 and February 2025 will count towards 2025’s targets, with ITA-to-landing lags ranging from 6 to 16 months. Historically, between 43-46% of the next year’s target landings are issued as ITAs from July to December. This method provides a clearer estimate while accounting for processing delays and landing logistics.
