Canada Enhances Support for Francophone Communities with New Immigration Initiatives



Canada is strengthening its national identity by increasing efforts to welcome French-speaking newcomers who will enrich Francophone minority communities (FMCs) across the country. 
The Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced the launch of the new Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP) program on August 26, 2024, in collaboration with designated French-language and bilingual post-secondary institutions (DLIs). Additionally, 10 more communities will join the Welcoming Francophone Communities (WFC) initiative, as announced by Minister Miller during the Acadian World Congress in Nova Scotia.
