Weekly Canadian Immigration updates - EE Draws | OINP draws | Spousal Sponsorship step to step guide
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted its third Express Entry draw this week, issuing invitations to apply (ITAs) to 1,800 candidates based on French language proficiency.
To qualify, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 400. Minimum CRS score is among the lowest of the year for any Express Entry draw.
Earlier this week, IRCC invited 1,391 candidates in a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)-specific draw with a minimum CRS of 670. Additionally, on July 8, IRCC invited 3,200 candidates in another category-based selection draw for French proficiency.
CRS scores for PNP-specific Express Entry draws tend to be higher than average because successful nominees receive an additional 600 CRS points. For instance, an Express Entry candidate with a score of 300 who is nominated will have an overall CRS of 900. So far this month, IRCC has issued 19,161 ITAs across seven separate draws, making it the busiest month for Express Entry this year.
On July 17, 2024, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held an Express Entry draw for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
A total of 6,300 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 515 or higher. The rank required to be invited was 6,300 or above. The tie-breaking rule for this draw was February 03, 2024. This means that if multiple candidates had the lowest CRS score of 515, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date were invited.
This draw reflects IRCC's ongoing efforts to prioritize candidates with Canadian work experience and help them transition to permanent residency.

On July 18, 2024, Ontario issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) for candidates eligible for the Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream, focusing on health occupations. Candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 425 and 444 were invited. To qualify, candidates must have work experience in one of the specified National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes listed as their primary NOC in their Express Entry profile. For those applying under the Canadian Experience Class, at least six months of their one year of eligible work experience must be in their primary NOC. The targeted NOC codes include various healthcare professionals, such as managers in healthcare, specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine, general practitioners, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and many others. This targeted draw underscores Ontario's commitment to strengthening its healthcare system by attracting skilled healthcare professionals from around the world.
